The service interruption is the result of the power outage that occurred in the community on July 24. Although power has since been restored to most of the community, multiple electrical issues remain at the Pangnirtung Hamlet, where the equipment is located, preventing power from being restored there. The damage is extensive and requires an electrician to fly into the community to complete the repairs. Based on the latest update, an electrician from outside the community is expected to travel to the community to carry out the repairs.
